PRACTICE AREAS
ENTERTAINMENT LAW
Entertainment has been at the center of my career for more than two decades. Having served as production counsel, General Counsel, Head of Business Affairs, and producer, I understand the legal and business side of bringing creative projects from development through financing, production, and distribution.
I represent producers, studios, production companies, investors, writers, directors, actors, musicians, composers, authors, executives, publishers, and entertainment businesses across film, television, digital media, animation, music, publishing, and emerging media. My practice includes rights acquisition, chain of title, production legal, talent and executive agreements, music and publishing transactions, production financing, domestic and international co-productions, licensing, distribution, copyright and intellectual property strategy, and the commercial transactions that transform creative ideas into successful businesses and successful creative works.
TECHNOLOGY AND AI
Technology has been a driving force throughout my legal career. Beginning in Silicon Valley and continuing through more than two decades of advising technology companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and innovative businesses, I help clients navigate the challenges of emerging technologies. My practice includes technology transactions, software and SaaS agreements, intellectual property licensing, artificial intelligence, strategic partnerships, data commercialization, and complex commercial contracts.
Artificial intelligence is transforming the way businesses operate, and I help clients stay ahead of the curve. I advise on the legal and strategic use of AI, helping companies leverage technology to increase efficiency, accelerate innovation, and create competitive advantages while protecting their IP, confidential information, and business interests. My advice is grounded in the law and decades of technology experience and the practical application of AI in real-world business environments.
BUSINESS LAW
Business owners need more than legal documents—they need practical legal advice that helps them grow, protect what they've built, and seize new opportunities. I serve as trusted legal counsel to entrepreneurs, startups, established companies, and business owners who need experienced guidance on the legal and commercial issues they face every day. Whether launching a new venture, negotiating an important agreement, hiring key personnel, protecting intellectual property, or expanding into new markets, I help clients make informed decisions that reduce risk and support long-term success.
My practice includes business formation, commercial contracts, licensing, employment and independent contractor agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, strategic partnerships, intellectual property transactions, and outside general counsel services. My goal is not simply to solve legal problems—it's to help clients build stronger businesses, close better deals, and seize new opportunities with confidence.
FINANCE
Successful projects and growing businesses require more than great ideas—they require well-structured financing. I represent producers, production companies, investors, entrepreneurs, and businesses in connection with equity financing, private investment transactions, and the legal documentation necessary to raise capital and bring projects to life. My experience includes motion picture and television financing, private placement offerings, investor documentation, production financing, joint ventures, and domestic and international financing transactions.
Whether raising capital for a feature film, television series, or business venture, I help clients structure transactions that protect their interests, comply with applicable securities laws, and inspire investor confidence. My goal is to help clients secure the financing they need while building a strong legal foundation for long-term success.
INTERNATIONAL LAW
International productions demand more than legal knowledge—they require experience in the real world of filmmaking. I have spent my career helping producers, studios, investors, and production companies navigate the legal and business challenges of international film and television production. As producer of the feature film Wonderwell, I spent nearly a year on location in Italy overseeing production while managing the legal, business, and logistical issues that arise when bringing an international production to life. I have worked extensively on productions and transactions in Japan and represent clients throughout the US, Europe, and Asia.
Having worked as an attorney and producer, I understand the pace, pressures, and realities of production, allowing me to anticipate problems before they become expensive delays. For more than a decade, I represented an international sales agency, negotiating worldwide film distribution and cross-border transactions. I am available to serve as on-site production counsel for domestic and international productions, working alongside producers and production teams to solve problems in real time and keep the project moving forward—whether in LA, Rome, Tokyo, or wherever the production takes me.
